Monday, August 5, will be a historic day. The world’ s first lab grown hamburger wil be presented to the world. Dutch tissue-engineering scientist and cardio vascular doctor Mark Post has spent €600000 ($500000) to produce three beef burgers, one of which he already are as a test, “I am still alive” he said about the culinary result.

But would you eat it?

The meat is grown out of a cow’s stem cells and it is predicted to use 35-60 percent of energy then  traditional meat production in a couple of years time. Greenhouse gasses emission is expected to be 80-95 percent lower and since this meat is produced in a lab, virtually no land is used. And, no animals get hurt. Everybody wins? Sure sounds like it, but the idea of meat grown in a lab… Would you eat it?
